Body Talk for Grades 5 & 6

The Body Talk class is a two-hour introduction to the basics of puberty for 5th and 6th grade students, presented by The Foundation of Wellness. This program helps students understand that the physical, emotional, and social changes they experience during puberty are normal and healthy. In a supportive, age-appropriate environment, students can learn, ask questions, and feel comfortable discussing these changes.

Boys and girls will participate in separate gender-based sessions, and each child must be accompanied by at least one parent. Students may not participate without a parent present.

Topics covered include:

  • Physical changes during puberty

  • Emotional and social changes

  • Personal hygiene and body care

  • Healthy habits and self-care

  • Respecting your body and others

  • Building confidence during times of change
