Ascension Students Shine at District Literary, Art, and Drama Rallies
Ascension Episcopal School
Ascension Episcopal School students delivered an outstanding performance across this year’s Academic, Art, and Drama Rallies, showcasing the depth of talent and dedication within the Upper School. Led by math teacher Taylor Ducote, who coordinated the school’s Literary Rally efforts, the Blue Gators achieved exceptional results at the district level and are now preparing to compete at State.

The rally season began with the UL Art Rally, where several Ascension students were selected to represent the school and have their work exhibited at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Fletcher Hall.

Exceptional Success at Literary Rally
Ascension’s students achieved remarkable success at the District Literary Rally in March. Of the 23 students who competed, 22 placed in the top three in their division. Even more impressively, 19 students earned first or second-place finishes, qualifying them to advance to the State Rally!

Strong Showing at Drama Rally
Ascension’s Drama Rally team also delivered an impressive performance. Students presented a one-act production of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, written by Dwayne Hartford and directed by upper school theatre and journalism teacher, Mrs. Renee Barry-Byrne.
The group earned a score of 80 out of 100, placing second—just half a point behind first place. Each performer was also recognized with individual honors:
