The Acadiana Advocate
Noah Chauvin of Ascension Episcopal had nine birdies in shooting a course-record 9-under-par 63 on Tuesday to grab the individual title by a 12 strokes and lead the Blue Gators to their sixth straight Division III boys title at the LHSAA state golf championships.
Chauvin posted a 32-31 — 63 score, tying the lowest 18-hole score in any division since the Acadiana area began hosting the event in 2015. He shot a 66 in Tuesday’s opening round of the 36-hole day to finish at 15-under-par 129 at the Farm d'Allie in Carencro.
Ascension Episcopal post a 3-over 579 to win the team title by three strokes over Loyola Prep (582). Two teams both finished more than 50 strokes ahead of the rest of the field on the 6,536-yard, par-72 course.
