During the tour, students discussed digital marketing, content creation, podcasting, and strategy with The Yard's team of experts. The professionals shared valuable insights into the evolving role of social media, branding, and audience engagement in today's market. Students also observed the team at work, experiencing firsthand how campaigns are developed from concept to execution.
"We took photos, made podcasts, and learned new skills and what it takes! There is a place for everyone; you just have to figure out your God-given gift. I found people who have a God-given talent for filming!” said one media student, Sophia Courville.
A key highlight of the visit was a hands-on workshop where students brainstormed their own marketing ideas, guided by the company's creative director. This real-world application of their classroom studies helped them see the relevance of their skills and the potential for future careers in the industry.
William Whetsell, a 7th grade media student, commented, “I loved having the ability to see new ways to film and work on our media skills.”
Overall, students thoroughly enjoyed this educational trip that not only enhanced their comprehension of media and marketing but also inspired many to explore careers in the creative and digital fields. Ascension Episcopal School extends its thanks to The Yard Marketing Company for generously opening its doors and offering such a priceless learning experience to its students.
