Ascension Episcopal School students are once again demonstrating the strength of the school’s academic program, earning top honors at both the Louisiana High School Rally Association (LHSRA) State Literary Rally and the regional Writes of Spring Writing Contest.
Together, these achievements highlight Ascension’s commitment to excellence across disciplines, from rigorous academic competition to creative expression.
Leading at the State Level
The State Literary Rally represents one of the most competitive academic events in Louisiana, bringing together top-performing students from across the state.
Ascension students delivered an outstanding performance, earning multiple top placements:
Cameron Adania – 1st Place, Calculus I
Afif Lakhani – 1st Place, Spanish IV
Morgan Alspaugh – 2nd Place, Economics
Sophie Courville – 2nd Place, French II
Henri Durio – 2nd Place, Spanish III
Louis Soileau – 3rd Place, Biology I
William Allemand – 3rd Place, Geometry
Martha Odom – 3rd Place, Journalism I
Natalya Grant – 4th Place, English III
Students also earned top honors in Foreign Language open events:

Ascension students also earned recognition in the 2026 Writes of Spring Writing Contest, an annual regional competition hosted by the Lafayette Public Library that celebrates excellence in student writing.

James Alldredge – 2nd Place, Fiction (7th–8th Grade)
Martha Odom – 2nd Place, Personal Narrative (11th–12th Grade)
Sam Sonnier – 3rd Place, Poetry (11th–12th Grade)
Martha Odom, who also earned a top-four finish at the State Literary Rally earlier this year, is remembered for her talent, dedication, and impact on the Ascension community.
