Ascension Recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for Sixth Time
Ascension Episcopal School
Ascension Episcopal School has once again been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School, marking the sixth time the school has earned this distinction and representing 18 years of recognition for innovation in teaching and learning.
Apple Distinguished Schools are recognized as centers of leadership and educational excellence, with a clear vision for how technology can inspire, imagine, and make an impact. At Ascension, however, technology is not the story. The story is what teachers and students accomplish with it.
Across all three campuses, digital tools are thoughtfully integrated into age-appropriate, hands-on learning experiences. Preschool students use technology to explore, create, and document their learning while continuing to build important skills through movement, play, and personal interaction. In Lower and Middle School, students expand their creativity and problem-solving through coding, robotics, design, and cross-curricular projects. Built-in accessibility tools also help ensure that every student can participate and succeed.
By high school, students take greater ownership of their learning as they use technology to develop ideas, solve real-world problems, and communicate with authentic audiences. From entrepreneurship pitches and 3D-printed prototypes to graphic design and media production, students are challenged to use digital resources creatively, responsibly, and with purpose.
This work is supported by Ascension’s Innovation and Technology team and a faculty committed to continuous growth. Through ongoing professional learning and Apple Teacher certification, educators continue discovering new ways to spark curiosity, encourage independence, and prepare students for opportunities beyond the classroom.
“We are not simply preparing students for the future—we are empowering them to imagine it, shape it, and build what comes next,” Head of School Sarah Lee said.
Ascension is proud to celebrate this renewed recognition and deeply grateful to the Innovation and Technology team for the expertise, vision, and daily work that continue to move teaching and learning forward throughout the school.
The Episcopal Church of the Ascension School (Ascension Episcopal School) admits qualified students without regard to race, religion, sexual orientation, or national origin. We are a welcoming community.
