The Jeanette Plauché Parker Merit Award honors Ascension’s founder by recognizing outstanding new students entering grades 1–5 who demonstrate academic excellence, strong character, leadership, and service.
For new students entering grades 6–12, the Ascension Advantage Scholars Program provides competitive, merit- and need-based tuition assistance. The program considers academic achievement alongside leadership, character, and service.
The Episcopal Church of the Ascension Rector’s Scholarship provides need-based support for new students entering grades 1–12 whose families are active, pledging members of the church. Awards are made at the Rector’s discretion.
Supporting current students
Head of School Scholarships are donor-supported, named scholarships that recognize academic promise, character, and financial need. Currently, the Michael P. Maraist Memorial Scholarship is the only available Head of School Scholarship and serves current Ascension students in grades 1–12. It honors Michael’s belief in investing in people’s promise and potential, providing awards that offset a portion of tuition.
Other memorial scholarships honor meaningful legacies within our community. The Walker Vincent Memorial Scholarship supports senior-year tuition for two students selected during their junior year. The William Vidrine Memorial Scholarship supports post-secondary education expenses for a faculty-nominated senior. The Chris Gambel Memorial Scholarship provides tuition assistance to a current student whose family loses its primary breadwinner.
Celebrating generations of Blue Gators
The Ascension Alumni Legacy Award celebrates families who continue their Ascension story across generations. Eligible children and stepchildren by marriage of Ascension’s 12th-grade graduates automatically receive a $1,000 annual tuition award. The award is available to new and current students in PK3–12 and continues while enrollment requirements are met.
A partnership with our church community
The Parishioner Tuition Partnership offers eligible children and grandchildren of active Episcopal Church of the Ascension parishioners in good standing up to a 10% tuition discount. The benefit is renewable annually with the Rector’s approval, subject to available funding, and may be combined with other scholarships or tuition assistance.
Participating families are asked to match the value of the discount through financial contributions or dedicated volunteer service to the church. Families should contact the school to learn more about eligibility and participation.
Understanding tuition assistance
Through the Ascension Tuition Partnership, an internal Tuition Assistance Committee considers individual family circumstances alongside a third-party financial assessment through Blackbaud Financial Aid Management.
New families must apply for admission before being considered for tuition assistance, and awards are made after acceptance. Tuition assistance is awarded for one year, with families required to apply for renewal annually.
Finding your next step
Each program has its own eligibility requirements, application or nomination process, and renewal criteria. Families are encouraged to begin the conversation early and visit our
